The 2019 BET Awards held Sunday 23rd of June at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The award is tailored to honor African Americans, Africans and other American minorities who excelled in music, acting, and sports during the past year and the 2019 BET Awards did just that. The show kicked-off with a special performance from Cardi B followed by some honorable moments; Mary J. Blige was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award (presented by Rihanna) and Tyler Perry was presented with the Ultimate Icon Award. Huge congratulations to the self proclaimed African Giant himself, Burna Boy on winning the Best International Act which he dedicated to Africa. South Africa’s Sho Madjozi also won the Best New International Act.
