One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Chief Daddy was premiered on Sunday the 2nd of December at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos to pomp and gaiety. Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan and from the stables of EbonyLife Films, Chief Daddy tells the story of billionaire industrialist Chief Beecroft.  A flamboyant benefactor to a large extended family comprising of relatives, household staff and a cocktail of  mistresses,Chief lives large, like a real daddy! All hell breaks loose when Chief Daddy dies suddenly and the ‘bullion van’ stops.

But let’s talk about the flamboyant movie premiere, chief daddy style! The dress code said “Opulently Nigerian” and guests were encouraged to be extra!  Indeed there was a whole lot of extra sauce at the event and we’ve curated some of the celeb looks that rocked the red carpet. This time, you get to decide your  5 ultimate best-dressed from the glamorous night.

Shaffy Bello is a style star! She looked very elegant at the event as she went extra with a dash of ruffles on her sleeves.
Ini Edo – Love it! Love it! Love it! I couldn’t stop screaming as I saw Ini edo walk in looking like a goddess. The star actress who was also part of the movie cast, went back home to her Akwa-Ibom roots to step out as an Efik princess in a very beautiful Onyonyo dress by Hope Fashion. She completed the look with the staff and EPIC hair.
You need to have a look at this epic hair by Zubby Definition. Ini Edo sure understands what opulently Nigerian means and she definitely knows how to make an entrance!
Ihuoma Linda Ejiofor and Ibrahim Suleiman: the newlyweds stormed the event looking adorable. Ihuoma totally looking like an African princess in Purple Lagos right next to her prince charming who looked dapper in his two toned agbada from fashion brand, Looks Like a Good Man.
Sharon Ooja is fast becoming a fashion icon. The actress definitely slayed
Stan Nze is one actor who lives his art. He never misses an opportunity to make a statement and he sure did that with his turban look.
Toke Makinwa with the sauce! She definitely killed it in a modern twist on the traditional iro and buba with asooke ipele and gele from TUBO.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu‘s outfit by D29 was inspied by the Obi (king) of Onitsha. It doesn’t get more opulently Nigerian than a king!

Beverly Osu wasn’t just in the movie, she went all out looking stunning in this outfit by Zhena Woman. And that colour really matches her skin tone!
Beverly Naya undeniably went all extra in this outfit by Weiz Dhurm Franklin who was uber creative in the use of Ankara. Love the cut out flowers made into a lovely skirt. Don’t get me started on her head gear! Very artistic and a beautiful change from the regular headpieces.
Uti Nwachukwu came correct, rocking a beautiful agbada from Looks Like a Good Man.
Our favorite celebrity couple, Joke Silva and Olu Jacobs embraced the Nigerian culture wholly with their outfits.
L-R: The belles of the ball, stars and executive producer of the movie; Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Mo Abudu and Kate Henshaw all dazzled last night.

Juliet Ibrahim was flying the flag of her home country of Ghana. The actress and entrepreneur hit the red carpet dressed as Ghanaian royalty.
Denola Grey looked like a Northern prince in this outfit from D29.
Igbo kwenu! Chioma Akpotha  looked graceful and elegant like an Igbo damsel in this ensemble. Her outfit was made from a fabric usually associated with Igbo men’s fashion. She was very creative with her horse tail and headpiece.
Ini Dima-Okojie was a lady in red in this outfit by Toju Foyeh. On anyone else, this all-red outfit may have looked ridiculous, but on Ini, it looks magical.

Life coach, Lanre Olusola looked like a chief daddy himself in an all black agbada outfit. Look at those shoes!
