Kanye West is keeping his mouth shut and letting his actions speak on the recent unrest and protests that have taken over America and by extension, other parts of the world due to the brutal murder of George Floyd and other recent racist murders. Several people including American media executive Ebro, and journalist Jemele Hill have asked why the vocal Kanye West hasn’t spoken out since the protests started.

According to TMZ , the artiste and entrepreneur has donated up to $2M to the families and legal teams fighting for Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd and he is reported to be helping in other ways too.

It was revealed that he also set up a college savings fund to fully cover tuition for Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter, Gianna. He’s also made a separate donation to cover the legal costs for the Arbery and Taylor families.

Along with that, a rep confirms Kanye’s donating to several black-owned businesses in his hometown of Chicago and nationwide that have been in crisis and impacted by the unrest in the US.

Few hours after this news broke, the Chicago native was spotted at a mostly youth-led march in Chicago after speakers called for the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to terminate its contract with the Chicago Police Department (CPD). According to Amando I Sanchez, a photographer for the Chicago Tribune, West “was surrounded by a large crowd but mostly kept his head down.”

“Kanye was at the South Side Chicago protest briefly, in a black hoodie and face mask, and never formally spoke to the crowd. Organizers never mentioned him by name but earlier referenced a “special guest”
who had called yesterday asking to join a protest.” Tweeted USA Today’s Grace Hauck who was covering the peaceful march.
