Lead actress in hit series, How to Get Away With Murder, Viola Davis created Walk of Fame history by being the first celebrity to receive a star in 2017. In her acceptance speech on Thursday, the actress who got emotional about the ceremony was very thankful and reminisced about her dad. “Only thing I could think about is my dad,” said Davis, “I wish he were here. He died in 2006 and, um, he would think this is pretty fantastic.”

In another interview video provided by AFP News look, the star actress who looked gorgeous in a white dress, said “I feel great as a woman, I feel like I am at a point where I am owning my power and I’m owning my story, I’m owning my beauty, I am owning my hard work and I’m standing in front of people, and I can say that I am not the best of anything but I deserve whatever I get because I worked hard for it so I feel wonderful”
