You know how you purchase something new and can't wait to use it? In this situation, the opposite was the case. Last week, I walked into a mall with a friend and there was this buzz  close to the entrance of the mall.  It was a Bvlgari promotion! (That promotion worked by the way, kudos to the organizers) As a perfume junkie and one who likes Bvlgari fragrances, I naturally stopped. Long and short, they made a sale and I went home with Goldea.

Goldea, according to the brand, is inspired by gold and light. The name means "Gold Goddess"and was launched in October 2015. Very uncharacteristic of me, I forget said perfume in the bag on the floor in my room but the cute black bvlgari bag kept beckoning to me and I thought, why not wear this and review it after 24hrs?

Got some cool promo gifts with the purchase, not bad huh?

The composition is oriental – floral, bold heavy with musk, developed by perfumer, Alberto Morillas. It begins with notes of crystal musk, orange blossom, raspberry and bergamot. The heart includes golden musk, ylang-ylang and jasmine. The base notes features velvety musk, amber, patchouli and Egyptian papyrus.

My review will be based on Aesthetics, Smell, Longevity Price and Overall Satisfaction

Aesthetics: For a fragrance that was inspired by the goddess of the sun and is said to celebrate Cleopatra, one would have expected a more sophisticated bottle design… not to forget the almost corny name, Goldea.

Smell: I like the composition and all through the day as I worked, I got a whiff of the musky scent and it made me feel good… smelling good is good for business.

Longevity: I don't know if they created it with very hot regions in mind, and seeing as Nigeria is one very hot place, Goldea gets an eight for longevity

Price: Goldea comes in 25, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum ranging from $40 -$110 which shouldn't cause much damage to the wallet.

Overall Satisfaction: Goldea by Bvlgari gets a solid 8.5/10 from me. Although not yet available in some regions, you can gift it to yourself or a loved one for Christmas (ideas anyone?)
