After a successful first edition last year, the Lagos Kids Mini-Marathon is back for the second edition! Organized by the St Saviour’s School Ikoyi Endowment Fund, the 2017 edition was well attended with over 1000 children representing 22 schools in Lagos; attracting guests like Kate Henshaw, Alibaba Akpobome, Asisat Oshoala, Chief Mary Onyali,  Eku Edewor, Maje Ayida and this year promises to be even bigger and better.

Themed “Active Kids Rock”, the mini-marathon is recognized as Nigeria’s only kids-focused marathon and will see children participating in the 1.2km, 3km and 5km distance races respectively. Visit www.sssievents.com.ng/register-now to sign up. Parents who wish to run with their kids can pick up t-shirts at the registration stand for a token fee.

Although the event is kids focused, the mini-marathon is designed as a fun day of family outing with exciting activities planned for kids and parents. The Lagos Kids Mini-Marathon is supported by AXA Mansard, Access Bank and MTN.

Giving Back

Part of the proceeds from the event will be used to support Slum 2 School Africa, a volunteer driven social organization working to empower disadvantaged children in disadvantaged communities to realize their full potential through the provision of educational scholarships, health and other psycho-social support.
