The 89th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honor the best films of 2016, was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on February 26, 2017 and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

It wouldn’t be complete without some drama would it? Steve Harvey style! In Oscars’ history, the 89th edition where Moonlight took home the top prize of Best Picture at the Academy Awards in dramatic fashion after La La Land was mistakenly initially declared the winner will not be easily forgotten. You have to give it to the team from La La Land at how graciously they handed over the awards and confirmed the real winners of the night’s biggest prize.
