The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards, an award which recognizes excellence in television, was held Sunday night at the Microsoft Theatre, Los Angeles, California. See full list of winners HERE. While we’re still reeling from the Game of Thrones haul – it took home 12 awards for its final season making it the most awarded show in the awards history – , let us also appreciate the fashion statements made this year by the women and men in television.
The Emmys may be an award for the small screen, but there was nothing small about the fashion choices of the stars who graced the purple carpet. From Zendaya’s sleek look to RuPaul’s well tailored suit and more, these stars put their best looks forward!

- Kendall Jenner
Highest paid model Kendall strutted the purple carpet in a floral gown, fresh off the runway of Richard Quinn’s Spring 2020 collection. Jenner had latex black sleeves cupped into a rose coloured fish gown finished off with slicked back hair.
- Kim Kardashian
Kim attended three 2019 Emmys in a black Vivienne Westwood gown that showed off her ample bosom and famous curves. Quite unlike her, the reality TV star and beauty mogul accessorized with silver chains, the ones you would see on the likes of Burna Boy, 2Chainz, Cardi B, Migos etc.
- Zendaya Coleman
Poison ivy attended… my bad! Zendaya (I honestly couldn’t tell) slayed the purple carpet and got everyone green with envy in this custom Vera Wang green gown that showed off her toned legs and shoulders. She matched it with heels of the exact color and red hair.
- Gwendolin Christie
Gwendolin made it into our Emmys 2019 best dressed list looking like a Roman god in this beautiful piece from Gucci Resort 2020 gown. The outfit was beautifully complemented by her gorgeous height and presence. The Game of Thrones star accessorized with gold dangling earrings. It’s fascinating how a lot of people are attributing her outfit to different things, some say it’s Cersei inspired look, another tweeted “who wore it better? Gwendolyn or Jesus?”
- Niecy Nash
American film star and comedienne Niecy was all shimmer and shine, at this years Emmy award 2019, in custom made strap gown by Christian Siriano. The gown glided over her body beautifully while showing off ample cleavage. She paired this gorgeousness with a head wrap of the same fabric and a purse.
- Jodie Comer
This gorgeous queen not only set the internet ablaze with her Emmy win- Best Lead actress in a Drama Series for her role in Killing Eve but also with her look to the event which puts her firmly on our Emmys best dressed list. She arrived in this white gown by TomFord with intricate sleeve cut outs and a nice slit. She paired it with black heels.
- Mandy Moore
Definitely one of my favourite looks from last night. Dishing out pure 80s vibe with her hair and outfit, Mandy Moore looked super elegant in this red and pink gown from Brandon Maxwell. The This Is Us star paired her look with red ankle strap heels.
- RuPaul Charles
Not only did his show, RuPaul’s Drag Race win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, he also multi slayed the purple carpet in this gorgeous pink and black combo suit. This outfit is a true break from the regular black or navy blue tux or suits that most male stars rock on the carpet.

Mahershala Ali who was nominated for Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie at Sunday night’s Emmys wore a custom green Ermenegildo Zegna XXX jacquard tuxedo, shirt and tie. Public opinion is Mahershala is the best dressed man in Hollywood, what do you think?

Easily one of the best looks of the night, Emilia Clarke stunned the red carpet in this plunging navy dress from Maison Valentino. The mother of dragons revealed that the looks was inspired by Jennifer Lopez… great inspiration as it got her on the Emmys best dressed list!
