Mangoes are sweet, creamy fruits that have a range of possible health benefits. They are highly popular around the world.

A mango is a juicy stone fruit produced from numerous species of tropical trees belonging to the flowering plant genus Mangifera, cultivated mostly for their edible fruit. Most of these species are found in nature as wild mangoes. The genus belongs to the cashew family Anacardiaceae

In her YouTube video this week, Ayo Elizabeth Olaogun;a certified Nutritionist and fashion entrepreneur based in Austria, gives some insights on how to add more Mangoes to your daily meals. 

This video features the rich antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties of mango, a fruit that should be included in everyone’s diet for its multifaceted biochemical actions and health-enhancing properties. This episode also shows you three easy ways to eat mangoes.

  • Ayo started the video off by saying that the compounds found in mangoes contribute to the upkeep of the cellular functions of the body. Mangoes protect us from aging, mangoes help with anti-aging, cancers and even diabetes. The fruit is a superfood and helps with even cardiovascular diseases.
  • Mangoes can be stored for a long time. If they are not in season, they can be kept frozen till they ripen and are ready for use. Even when they are and they are purchased ripe, you can enjoy this fruit by keeping it in the fridge.
  • Mangoes aren’t just consumed as fruits, they can be added to your meals as well and enjoyed thoroughly as they serve as a large variety of antioxidant. They also act as pigments and vitamins for the body.
  • For those who are suffering from inflammatory bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome ( Ulcer) as well as any other gastro-intestinal diseases, mangoes can serve as a potent remedy
  • She then goes ahead to share 3 ways in which mangoes can be eaten; For instance, mangoes can be a part of your breakfast. This is especially if you are having oats or cereals. You can either dice them into smaller pieces or add it blended.

Mangoes are such super food! As they also support hair health. They provide a good amount of vitamin A. This nutrient helps the skin provide an oily substance called sebum, which moisturizes the hair. Vitamin A is also necessary for the growth of all bodily tissues, including skin and hair.
