Lewis Hamilton is on the verge of a surprising move to Ferrari for the 2025 Formula One season, parting ways with Mercedes.

Although the deal hasn’t been officially confirmed, ongoing talks have progressed since initial reports surfaced from Italy on Wednesday night, with an announcement possibly imminent. If realized, the collaboration between the most successful driver and the most successful team in F1 history would mark one of the sport’s most significant transfer shocks.

This move would place Lewis Hamilton alongside Charles Leclerc at Ferrari in 2025, as Leclerc recently secured a long-term contract, leaving Carlos Sainz, a two-time race winner for Ferrari, without a seat.

This move would initiate the ‘silly season’ in the F1 driver market nearly a month ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix, presenting a chance for a sought-after spot at Mercedes alongside George Russell. Despite signing a two-year contract with Mercedes in August, 39-year-old Lewis Hamilton’s exit clause has allowed discussions with Ferrari regarding 2025.
