Johnny Drille
John Ighodaro, professionally known as Johnny Drille, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter, record producer, and sound engineer. His career came into the spotlight when he released a cover of “Awww” by Di’Ja. He is currently signed to Mavin Records.
His debut single “Wait for Me” was released in 2015. It was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2016. In February 2017, he signed a record deal with Mavin Records. On September 3, 2021, he released his debut album, which consists of a fourteen-track project, before we fall asleep featuring several Nigerian artists like; Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, Lagos community choir, Don Jazzy, Chylde, Kwitte, Cilsoul, and the classic afro R&B group, Styl plus under the label Mavin Records.

From tracks like “Count on You”, “Wait for Me” and “Something Better” Johnny Drille is either talking about pure love or something better. In his new single, “How are you my friend’, he talks about pure friendship that sparks a new form of relationship in society.
Since the song’s release, it has become a theme song for people trying to genuinely ask their friends how they’re feeling. He performed the song on his last Johnny Music Mondays with record label boss Don Jazzy adding his tunes and vibes.
