The Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards were held Saturday night at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, hosted by Nigeria’s IK Osakioduwa and South Africa’s Minnie Dlamini Jones.

Aside from a few misses (like Big Brother Nigeria’s BamBam whose dress was a beautiful concept – that may have been inspired by the Off_White tulle dress worn by Kim Kardashian or Molly Goddard tulle dress worn by Rihanna etc – but the execution failed;  Media personality, Folu Storms and a few others) in general, it was a very powerful and beautiful red carpet as most of the women showed out in all their finery. African fashion has really come a long way and Nigerian designers and stylists are bringing their A’ Game to the fore.

A major challenge in the African entertainment landscape is the lack of professional red carpet images. We had to rely on images taken at the hotel, houses or event surroundings for this. Celebs need to go early and walk on the red carpet more, show off the beautiful dresses and all that glam with proper photography and lighting set-up.

It was quite difficult to come up with a top 10 list out of the rich pool of dresses but here are our top 10 best dressed celebs.

Faithia Williams is that really you? It was shocking to know that this dress was created by Tiannah Place Empire, not because Toyin Lawani is not a fantastic designer but because she’s known for her over the top, showstoping looks. This dress is a show-stopper alright but there’s nothing over the top about it, this is royalty personified! The fabric, the cut, the styling, the fit; everything was on point. Faithia is such a beautiful woman and this dress was a perfect match. We crown her the ultimate best-dressed celeb!
The Nollywood veterans didn’t come to play at this year’s AMVCA’s. Ireti Doyle was elegance personified in a Fouad Sarkis Couture piece from Enthyst Fashion Klinik.
Shaffy Bello in Fouad Sarkis Couture, from Enthyst Fashion Klinik. The AM Battleground Star is everything in this dress. Not one hair was out of place, no faults to be found with this look.
Toni Tones was the belle of the ball, standing out in this red creation by Yemi Shoyemi.
Rita Dominic is that celeb people anticipate to see on the red carpet and there are not many times that she’s failed to exceed expectations. Dominic and her silky skin were glowing in this beautiful blue dress by TUBO.
Big Brother Nigeria 2018 Runner Up, Cee-Cee brought all the glam to the table in this Lanre Dasilva Ajayi dress. The hair, makeup, accessories, pose, all PERFECT! If there was one event for Cee-Cee to show off, this was it and girl, did she bring it!
Osas Ighodaro Ajibade is fast creating a name for herself as a fashionista to look up to. The actress has been a major winner in recent red carpet events and she sure was winning last night wearing Toju Foyeh.
Outside of the Big Brother Nigeria house, 2018 contestant Anto Lecky has become quite the fashionable star. Her recent style collaboration with Noble Igwe has proven to be one of her best fashion decisions so far as he’s been hooking her up with the best looks. Lecky was a force in this nude number by Bibi Lawrence.
Ini Dima Okojie proved that sometimes, all that glitters is gold; wrapped in gold and black dreas by “Fablane by Derin”.
Lilian Afegbai did not only win an award for her first feature film, she won on the red carpet also, wearing this bombshell by Nonnistics Fashion. Notice the sheer detail?
