The 2019 Grammy Awards was a night for the history books with records set and broken! Hosted by award winning singer, Alicia Keys, the Grammy Awards held on Sunday the 10th of February at the Los Angeles’ STAPLES centre. Cardi B proved that she is here to stay, and here to win when she became the first solo woman to win Rap Album of the Year award ahead of Pusha T and others. Childish Gambino went home with four Grammy Awards with his song, This is America, which also made history for being the first rap song to win the coveted Song of the Year award.

Checking back to the list of nominations, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Cardi B, and Childish Gambino led this year’s Grammy Award noms. Kendrick garnered the most nods with eight in total while Drake had the second-most nominations with seven. Brandi Carlile had six, and Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Childish Gambino, Maren Morris and H.E.R scored five nominations each.
