The SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild) were held on Sunday 27th January, 2019 in Los Angeles. The SAG Awards highlight performances across film and television. “Black Panther” took home the top award for best performance by a cast in a motion picture, On the TV front, “This Is Us” nabbed the ensemble award for drama, while “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” won the comedy prize.
Other recognitions include Rami Malek and Glenn Close who took home awards for their leading performances in Bohemian Rhapsody and “The Wife” respectively. Recall that they also won at the Golden Globes earlier this month. Could they win same at the upcoming Oscar Awards?
Amazon’s comedy “The Marvelous Mrs.Maisel” also walked away with a leading three SAG Awards, including best actress for Rachel Brosnahan and best actor for Tony Shalhoub.
Sterling K Brown had every reason to smile about the 2019 SAG Awards as the actor won twice with “Black Panther” & “This is Us” clinching nods for best ensemble in a motion picture and TV series respectively.
