The annual Met Gala is one event that fashion lovers, critics, celebrities and designers look forward to. This year, the Costume Institute ball held on the 2nd of May, was centered around the theme: “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” exploring the relationship between clothes created by hand (or “manus”) versus the machine. Whilst a number of attendees went off theme, most celebrities showed up at the Met Gala dressed in sparkly metallics and shiny, futuristic-looking fabrics in line with the year’s theme. As always, there were hits and there were misses and we have listed the 10 best dresses of the night, in no particular order.
Claire Danes – Zac Posen : This would have been another classic Zac Posen dress just like the usual beautiful dresses the designer is known for but the fact that the gown lit up, took it up some notches! This dress is the future and of course, it lands Claire Danes right on our ultimate best dressed list!

| Kim Kardashian – Balmain: This metallic dress made the curvy star look more buxom than she already was but it was very futuristic and fabulous… the hair, the make-up and the bleached brows… Kim Kardashian hit the right notes with this one. |

Beyonce – Givenchy: The fact that they made this gown from latext is what lands Bey on this list! So much so,she got us asking if the dress came with a custom air conditioning… Givenchy, Bey and her stylist, Ty Hunter made this work on all levels.
