Senior Pastors of House on the Rock Churches, Paul & Ifeanyi Adefarasin have issued a press statement, announcing the suspension of all physical gatherings at the Rock Cathedral Lekki and the Rock Chapel Ikeja till the threat of exposure is averted and restrictions are lifted.

This comes as a result of the ongoing global health pandemic of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and the subsequent directive of the Lagos State Government to halt all mass gatherings involving more than 50 persons.

In the release which was signed by Paul & Ifeanyi Adefarasin, senior pastor and co-pastor of all House on the Rock Churches respectively, they’re quoted saying “We, at House on the Rock, are in full support of this, and committed to doing everything possible to halt the spread of the virus within our community, state and nation”

Adefarasin went on to admonish parishioners saying “while the measures being implemented by the authorities will no doubt limit our movements and disrupt our way of life, it is a small price to pay to ensure the safety of us all. Particularly those who are more vulnerable to the virus”

Adefarasin also pleaded with parishioners to comply with the guidelines given by the World Health Organization, which includes frequent hand-washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, self-isolating and practicing social distancing when in public to prevent exposure to the virus.

Although there will not be physical meetings, the Church noted that services will hold virtually on their various digital platforms from Sunday, 22nd March at 9am on Facebook Live (@houseontherock) on YouTube (HOTRLagos) and on the church’s website houseontherock.org.ng

Using a bible passage from Isaiah 41:10 (TLB), members were charged “For God says – do not be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand”

“Remember, you are not alone. We continue to pray for you, your loved ones, our community and our nation, as we speak peace to every heart that is troubled. This too shall pass” they further encouraged.
