Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the middle of the week in the middle of a major health disaster. I bet all you want to do is focus on practicing safety measures against Covid-19 but why not slay while at it?

This is not an article for safety health practices, but it will teach you some of the things you need to add to your style routine. The weather is hot, the rains have visited and there is a worldwide virus outbreak but you still have to go to work or work from home but look good while at it.

Here are some things you might need to kick your slay on this week!

  1. Lip balm

The skin on the lips is very thin, so you want to keep your lips hydrated all day every day to avoid it drying up and having chaps. It’s unattractive to have ashy, chapped, cracked lips especially if you don’t have make up on or a gloss. If you are going to apply makeup, apply the lip balm before your makeup so your lipstick doesn’t crease on the lips. We assure you that lip balms are highly affordable and guys, it’s not gay to use one.

  1. Light fabric

Like I said earlier it’s pretty hot at the moment so keep the fabric of your clothes light and the color bright. Dark colors such as black, navy blue, taupe, onyx, etc. should be avoided completely. Yes! That black leather jacket you think you want to rock with denim tomorrow, drop it. Do you know why? It’s because black and his family members absorb more heat because they usually absorb more light from the environment. So, slay cooler colours like sky blue, baby pink, lavender, yellow etc. you are welcome

  1. Sun Screen/Umbrella

I’m sure you’ve noticed how angry the sun has been lately, shinning at its fullest and burning everyone and everything. Do you want to know why? That intense heat wave we are experiencing is as a result of climate change. So how do we slay through this? By using Sunscreen! Yes, apply your sunscreen before stepping out, use beauty products that contain SPF to protect you from sunburn. Invest in a purse size umbrella to also protect you from both the sun and the rain. I advise to get neutral colors so it can match whatever you’re wearing. Easy peasy!

  1. Sneakers

I’m directing this to my Lagos people who do not own cars or can’t afford to Uber to the office every day. They have to walk sometimes long distances from their homes to the nearest bus stop to get a bus. You can’t walk long distances in heels. Naomi Campbell won’t even advice you to. Not only will you ruin perfectly good shoes, you’d get blisters or worse still twist your ankle. So, the next best thing is to invest in sneakers. Yes! Sneakers isn’t only comfortable for long distance walks it is also work appropriate. You can decide to put on your heels at the office but sneakers are better so you must take full advantage. You can rock it with a suit on, a dress, denim, you name it; it speaks many languages and amid them is your slay.

  1. Hand sanitizer

In the wake of the Covid-19 round the world and a few discovered cases here in Nigeria. It is advised to have on-hand, hand sanitizers. There are the cool one’s that come with their own belt which you can buckle to your bag or purse for easy access. It is most advised to wash your hands but when you can’t, use your hand sanitizer, it’s not just for you, but for other people around you.

Slay Safe Everyone!
