The 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA 2025) was a night to remember, as the crème de la crème of African cinema converged at the iconic Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos State to celebrate excellence in film and television.
With IK Osakioduwa at the helm, the ceremony was a masterclass in elegance and sophistication. The spotlight shone brightly on “Seven Doors”, which dominated the awards, with Femi Adebayo and Chioma Chukwuka taking home top honors for Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress, respectively. Meanwhile, Awam Amkpa’s direction in “The Man Died” earned critical acclaim, while “Lisabi: The Uprising” showcased exceptional artistry in costume design and makeup.

The ceremony also took a moment to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of industry veterans, with notable awards being presented to deserving recipients. The Trailblazer Award went to Kayode Kasum, a testament to his groundbreaking work. Additionally, Sani Mu’azu and Nkem Owoh were celebrated with Industry Merit Awards, recognizing their enduring impact on the African film industry.
