As an entrepreneur trying to make a mark in today’s busy world, making time for health and fitness can be quite challenging. Most entrepreneurs often don’t have a steady 9 to 5 schedule, or even predictable hours. They may work late into the night, early morning, or weekends. Whilst it is great to hustle and make money, health and fitness cannot be compromised as this is the real wealth.

So, can you get the money and still stay on track with your health and wellness goals? Yes, you can! Here is a list of 5 ways to stay healthy and fit even as a busy entrepreneur.

  1. Stay Hydrated

Hydration is key as an average adult human body is composed of 50-65 per cent water, making it an essential element for survival. Taking 10-12 glasses of water helps the body to release excess fluids keeping the system free from diseases. Irrespective of the profession, everyone needs to sustain a certain amount of water level, which calls for drinking water every few minutes.

  1. Maintain a Clean Diet

Clean diet is a major key to stay healthy even while at work. Most of the business professionals find it more convenient to order food rather than carrying a homemade meal, forgetting the significance of diet in keeping one’s lifestyle in check. Following a simple and clean diet is key to staying fit, keep diseases at bay and reduce the risk of diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular challenges. A clean diet should include lots of green veggies, fresh fruits and roasted nuts. See a detailed post on healthy foods to add to your diet.

  1. Stay Physically Active

Most busy entrepreneurs find it hard to maintain their gym routine. For those who can’t keep up with the hard-core regime, resorting to light activities like walking, meditation and yoga is a good option. Even if it is late after work, go for a walk or do Yoga early in the morning. Small and simple exercises will help you stay fit and healthy. Ensuring to get up for 5 mins after every one hour is a great way to stay active. 1. Prioritize Quality Sleep

For every individual, sleep plays a crucial role in recovering both the mind and body from the entire day’s fatigue. It is essential as an adult to get a good 7-8 hours of uninterrupted quality sleep but in the entrepreneur’s case, even 5-6 hours should work but without calls or messages for his/her mental stability. Studies show that high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack, heart failure or stroke are some of the potential problems associated with chronic sleep deprivation. Sufficient sleep is the key to achieving a clearer mind and attaining mental stability to give your career or business the creativity and boost that it needs.

  1. Practice Meditation

Practicing meditation will help set you up for success in your workout and in your business. You don’t have to go to a meditation class every day, but try to spend 5 minutes by yourself. Find a clean space in your home. Sit there for just 5 minutes (you can go for longer periods after a while) with your eyes closed. Keep your cell phone and other distractions away during this time. After closing your eyes, your mind will fill with random and useless thoughts. In Buddhist philosophy, the ultimate benefit of meditation is liberation of the mind from attachment to things it cannot control. The liberated or “enlightened” practitioner no longer needlessly follows desires or clings to experiences, but instead maintains a calm mind and sense of inner harmony. Some benefits of meditation to the nervous system include: Lower blood pressure, improved blood circulation, lower heart rate, less perspiration, slower respiratory rate, less anxiety, lower blood cortisol level and less stress.
