The 2024 Met Gala, slated for the first Monday in May, is fast approaching. This year’s event, known as the “Oscars of fashion,” will honor The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition. This year’s exhibition is titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

The 2024 Met Gala Co-Chairs

The red-carpet extravaganza at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art will feature an illustrious host committee. Members of whom include Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour as co-chairs. Honorary chairs are Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew.

Each co-chair brings a unique blend of career accomplishments and Met Gala history to the table. Bad Bunny, in his third Met Gala appearance, is known for his daring fashion choices, while Chris Hemsworth makes his debut as a co-host. Jennifer Lopez, a seasoned 13-time attendee, consistently delivers memorable looks, and Zendaya has captivated audiences with her stunning ensembles over five gala appearances.

The gala’s dress code, revealed as “The Garden of Time,” offers a glimpse into the evening’s thematic focus. Complementing the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibition. With approximately 250 items from The Costume Institute’s archives, the exhibition promises a fresh perspective on fashion through innovative presentation techniques such as AI and GCI. All while exploring themes of land, sea, and sky.
