Vogue World is set to make a dazzling return, this time arriving in Paris for its third annual celebration. The highly anticipated event will take place on Sunday, June 23, at the historic Place Vendôme. This year’s show promises to be a spectacular fusion of fashion and sports, honouring the creativity and rich history of the City of Lights through live performances and a stunning showcase of French fashion.

Carine Roitfeld, Ib Kamara, Juan Costa Paz, and Palais Galliera curator Alexandre Samson will be leading this year’s fashion events at Vogue World: Paris. Dame Pat McGrath returns to spearhead makeup design, while world-renowned dancer and Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show choreographer, Parris Goebel, will oversee artistic direction and choreography. The globally broadcast livestream, directed for the third time by Sam Wrench, known for his work on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film, promises to capture every moment of this spectacular event.

“If Vogue World: New York was a street fair, and Vogue World: London was a glamorous night at the theater—supporting arts and cultural organizations in London—Paris will be a kind of opening ceremony; one that celebrates 100 years of fashion and sport, as well as this extraordinary city,”

Vogue World: A Century of Style and Sport

This year’s event will uniquely pair various sports—such as cycling, gymnastics, tennis, taekwondo, fencing, and break dancing—with iconic French fashion from every decade since 1924. The event will highlight the work of both current and past French designers, including those whose collections have historically graced Paris runways. Featuring over 500 models, athletes, performers, and surprise guests, the evening will be an extraordinary celebration of style and athleticism.

Supporting Future Athletes

In addition to its artistic and cultural significance, Vogue World: Paris will have a charitable impact. Net proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Paris 2024 charitable tickets program in partnership with Secours Populaire. This organisation plays a crucial role in providing essential equipment to young, aspiring athletes across France, ensuring that the next generation has the resources they need to succeed.

The Evolution of Vogue World

The mission of Vogue World is to unite the fashion industry in a spirit of creativity while celebrating a host city. Since its inception in 2022, it has made a significant impact on the fashion scene. The inaugural event in New York City transformed downtown into a vibrant street fair and fashion show, featuring an open-air runway and performances by Lil Nas X, alongside models like the Hadid sisters.

In 2023, Vogue World: London brought fashion to the West End’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The event was reimagined as an opening night, with performances by Annie Lennox, FKA Twigs, and appearances by The Supermodels — Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington. These past events set the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable night in Paris.

What sets Vogue World: Paris apart from its previous iterations?

“If Vogue World: New York was a street fair, and Vogue World: London was a glamorous night at the theater—supporting arts and cultural organizations in London—Paris will be a kind of opening ceremony; one that celebrates 100 years of fashion and sport, as well as this extraordinary city,” said Vogue Global Editorial Director and Condé Nast Chief Content Officer Anna Wintour at a press conference in February.

She was joined at the Ritz Paris in the iconic Place Vendôme by designers Simon Porte Jacquemus, Olivier Rousteing, Marine Serre, and Pharrell Williams, along with Bruno Pavlovsky, Executive President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, and several French Olympians, including fencer Enzo Lefort.

As Vogue World: Paris approaches, anticipation is building for an event that will not only celebrate a century of French fashion and athletics but also contribute to the future of young athletes. This unique blend of style, sport, and philanthropy will make Vogue World an exceptional celebration.
