Have you noticed our celebrities have been scarce both on the gram and around for a bit? Yes there’s not been a lot of events but come on guys, don’t you just like to play dress up? If you’d not do it for yourselves, do it for your fans who enjoy obsessing over your looks. How do you feel when something important is taken from you for a time? Deprived? Yes that is exactly how it feels.
Not to be dismayed, we still have a few who care about our feelings and enjoy peppering us week after week. This week’s list features 9 stars (not the usual 10… because, deprived) who not only slayed their looks but have chosen to be our oasis of fashion consumption. We are overjoyed that more first timers – Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Sarkodie, Basketmouth etc. made our weekly best dressed list than the usual fashion slayers. So, ladies and gentlemen shall we dive into this interesting list?
- Sarkodie
First of all happy birthday Sarkodie. Secondly, damn Sark, so much sauce. Ghana’s number one lyricist Sarkodie has graced us with these pictures of him in an interesting suit, designed by Trendy Rail and brought to life by GGbespoke. He accessorized with traditional neck pieces.
- Toke Makinwa
At some point Toke has to tell us what her secret to being a premium baby girl is. She doesn’t ever take a break; steady giving us back to back. Here she is in a plum two piece from Zhena’s Closet which she accessorized with a Chanel bag and Gilda shoes by Amina Muaddi.
- Temi Otedola
Fashion influencer and daughter of one of Africa’s richest business tycoons, Temi is known to always lock it down in her own way. She totally killed this polka dot dress matched with court shoes and a mini purse. I like the face that she didn’t go for the usual flats, canvas or ankle strap heels.
- Basketmouth
Basketmouth (Bright Okpocha) is one Nigeria’s most successful comedians. He’s had a certain afro-locs cut for about 13 years and has decided to let it go, but boy does he still look handsome! The comedian switched his signature hair do to this simple punk cut and all I can say is, his barber definitely needs a raise. Who can tell me what tag name he gave this new cut? P.S: that polka dot shirt is popping!
- Beverly Naya
Nigerian Actor, Beverly Naya slayed this two piece long sleeved button up print shirt and short skirt combo from SGTC Clothing. The predominant colour here is pink and considering they are two different print patterns, they were matched beautifully. She also kept her accessories minimal which is a good choice as her outfit is loud enough. Anything different would have been a total eyesore.
- Alex Unusual
Big brother reality star Alex Asogwa a.k.a Alex Unusual took a break from filming Merry Men 2 to share some breath taking pictures of her, and yes we cannot breath! She totally dazzled in this gold dress from Isabella Edem of BeUnique. She accessorized with gold cuff bracelets and swapped a wig for two Afro puffs. Everything was on point!
- Jidenna
Can we take a moment to appreciate the level of snatched Jidenna has attained? We always knew the Nigerian born American artiste had it in him but my my my. He was captured looking laid back (casual slay) in the studio in plain tank top and patterned pants with little jewelry and went on to break the internet as soon as the photo was shared on the gram. What a hunk!
8. Omotola Jalade Ekeinde
Nollywood star actor Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is on a mission to paint Turkey white. Check out this all white suit from Elegante by Tiannah, a sub set of Tiannah’s Place Empire. No shirt? No problem! Omotola paired the look with a Chanel bag and black heels. Look at that location, like a scene out of a movie!
9. Amara Kanu
Amara is the wife of legendary Nigerian footballer- Kanu Nwankwo a.k.a Papilo. She’s been an advocate for eating healthy and working out and it’s definitely showing.
