Meghan Markle honoured in New York
The Ms. Foundation celebrated 50 years of progress and power at the Women of Vision Awards on May 16, 2023, and honoured Meghan Markle at the event for “her global advocacy to empower and advocate on behalf of women and girls.”
This year’s Ms Foundation event explored the past, present and future of the Ms. Foundation and feminist movements, while raising funds for the organization’s strategic, equity-centered initiatives. It also honoured game-changing grantee partners and visionary leaders committed to the Ms. Foundation’s mission of advancing collective power and creating safe, just and equitable futures for women, girls, and gender-expansive people.
During the ceremony, which was held at New York City’s Ziegfeld Ballroom, iconic feminist and activist Gloria Steinem presented the award to Meghan.
Teresa C. Younger, president and CEO of the Ms. Foundation, referred to Meghan as one of the “incredible leaders” that they “are grateful to be able to shine a light on their many accomplishments and tireless work on behalf of gender and racial equity across the country and the world.”
During her speech, Meghan said;
“You can be the visionary of your own life.” Through “daily acts of service” the women at the Ms. Foundation event could inspire the “next wave of women” to “join the movement and make our vision for an equitable world a reality”.
Meghan Markle’s New York style
Apart from advocacy, one other thing Meghan Markle excels at is her impeccable fashion sense and unrivalled style. For the Ms. Foundation Award event, she opted to wear a strapless gold bodycon dress by Johanna Ortiz with a subtle cut-out at the front and a center leg slit. Meghan added a pair of strappy heeled sandals by Tom Ford, a small gold Carolina Herrera clutch, gold J.Crew earrings, and a stack of gold and diamond bracelets.

By her side as always was her husband, Prince Harry decked to perfection in a classic midnight blue suit paired with a white button-up, a light blue tie, and black dress shoes.
