Following Kanye’s recent post-campaign rant on twitter, Kim Kardashian West has spoken out about her husband Kanye West’s bipolar disorder for the first time.
Writing on her Instagram story, Kim said that “those who are close with Kanye knows his heart and understand his words sometimes do not align with his intentions describing him as a “brilliant but complicated person”.
Responding to the rapper’s now-deleted Twitter rant, Kardashian West told her 180 million followers: “As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder. “Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.
“I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. Today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.”
The reality star’s post followed a string of concerning tweets from her husband, who claimed he had been trying to divorce her and that she had tried to “lock me up”.
Kim appeals to the media and the general public who are being judgemental online to “give compassion and empathy ” for the family to get through this.
