In honour and celebration of 2022 MLK Day, Urban One Honors threw a show themed “The Soundtrack of Black America“. The Urban One Honor show was hosted by Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Ne-Yo. And the historic event was dignified with black American stars and broadcast on TV One and Cleo TV.
In expressing the significance of such a historic event, Neyo said…
“Everybody is familiar with what Martin Luther King’s ultimate dream was… and that was basically, in layman’s terms, for everybody to rock together. Under this skin and whatever colour it is, we’re all one tribe. For this show to fall on this day, with that message… it just makes perfect sense. It was meant to happen this way. For me to be bestowed the honor of hosting this show, there’s not words that I can put together to say how grateful and appreciative I am.”
