In celebration of Africa Day 2025, Glazia Magazine hosted a landmark virtual roundtable titled “Tapping Into the Global Digital Economy: How Africans Can Lead in Tech, Business and Immigration Globally.” The event, held on May 23 via X Spaces, convened a diverse panel of African thought leaders to discuss the continent’s role in shaping the future of digital innovation, business, and global mobility.
Leading The Global Tech, Business and Immigration Ecosystem

The roundtable featured distinguished speakers from various sectors including Dr. Fin Dittimi; founder and principal consultant at F&F Consultancy, Fiona Kamikazi; Head of Marketing and Communications at I\&M Bank Rwanda, known for her advocacy for youth, communication, and social change, and Dr. Oludayo Sokunbi, founder of Japa Consults, assisting Africans in accessing global academic and career opportunities.

Janet Machuka, renowned digital marketing strategist, founder of AfricaTweetChat and ATC Digital Academy, empowering Africa’s digital talents and Wakawaka Doctor, travel and migration content creator, were also part of the discussion.

Together, these speakers represented the sectors of technology, business, and immigration, highlighting how Africans can not only participate in but also shape the global digital narrative.
The discussion focused on Africa’s unique position in the global digital economy, emphasizing the continent’s increased internet penetration, a growing youth population, and a rising number of African-led innovations.
The Migration Dialogue
Speaking on the mindset shift necessary for African professionals to succeed in global tech, Dr. Fin Dittimi highlighted the importance of thinking beyond borders now. “Social media, the internet, and the rise of technology and innovation has made the world all connected which means that it doesn’t matter where you are, as long as you can create solutions to global problems according to global standards consistently, you can export your knowledge”

Fiona Kamikazi emphasized the role of communication in empowering youth: “Effective communication strategies are essential in mobilizing young Africans to participate actively in the digital economy.”
Dr. Oludayo Sokunbi discussed the significance of global academic and career opportunities: “Providing access to international education and career paths is crucial for Africans to compete globally.”
Janet Machuka spoke on how online communities and platforms can support African professionals in building their personal brand and network in the digital space. “Having a community that is Pan-African gives the opportunity to stay on top of happenings in the digital space across the continent and even beyond.”
The virtual roundtable encouraged open, impactful dialogue with live audience interaction via X Spaces. Participants engaged with the speakers, posing questions and sharing insights, fostering a collaborative environment.
