Our woman of the week is a peculiar actor and producer, and now singer, Tolulope Adesua Etomi -Wellington.
Adesua Etomi rose to stardom when she starred in The Wedding Party (2016) as a lead actress, alongside some A-listers such as; Sola Sobowale, Richard Mofe Damijo, and Beverly Naya, among others.
Prior, she had won an African Magic Viewers Choice Award for her role in the 2015 romantic drama film Falling. Following this, she starred in many other movies. Some of her signature roles were in award-winning movies like; Shuga (2015), Sugar Rush (2019), King Of Boys 1 (2018), and The Setup 1 (2019).
Although the actress hadn’t been seen on TV for a while, her comeback was an elite one. Alongside iconic actresses like Kehinde Bankole, Kate Henshaw, and Nancy Isime, Etomi returned for The Set Up 2; which was released in cinemas in August this year.
Her evolution into music under the stage name Susu is quite commendable. With her single tiltled “So Natural” and her Acapella cover of Banky W’s hit track “Strong Thing” we must say she sings beautifully well. We think she might give Banky W a run for his money.
Also an award-winning actress, Etomi recently bagged an honorary Doctorate degree at UK University, the University of Wolverhampton; her alma mater where she had earned a degree in Drama & Performance in 2009. According to her, that was where she built her career and confidence.
In my opinion, Susu is astute. I’ve learned a whole lot from her. Her journey inspires me a whole lot. If there’s one things I’ve learned over the past 5/6 years following her very closely is She put God first and She put in the work. Giving her all in to it . Susu has taught me that if you put your mind to anything you can achieved it because God has empowered us all.
I’m from Liberia 🇱🇷 and I look at her I’m so many ways and get myself corrected many times. When Banky says he hit the jackpot he really does.
Can’t love u less SGA President ❤️❤️❤️
