In March 2019, Fireboy DML released his breakthrough single “Jealous”. Three years later, Fireboy has two albums to his credits; the third to be released a few days away, several awards, accolades, and international recognition.
Adedamola Adefolahan, known professionally as Fireboy DML; is a Nigerian singer and songwriter currently signed to YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution. DML’s musical prowess over the years has further affirmed his “Afro-beats Intelligence” as music analysts will say. His first album; LTG amassed over 6 million streams on Spotify three days after its release. At the 2020 Headies Awards, he scooped five awards for Best Pop Album, Album of the Year, and other categories.
Away from his previous notable awards, he has continued to hold sway in 2022. On 7 February 2022, his hit song with Ed Sheeran, Peru debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. This feat earning a BPT Platinum and RIAA Gold Certification. His latest achievement is his nomination in the BET Awards International Act Category. Fireboy performed the hit song Peru and Playboy; thereby making history as the first Afro-beats artist to perform on the BET stage. His third studio album is scheduled for release Friday, August 5.
