Welcome back from the holiday! It is another weekend and in usual fashion we bring you the best dressed celebrities this week. From haute couture, to street style, and summer fashion, from the regular fashionisto Ebuka Obi-Uchendu to new mama Toyin Abraham who practically broke the internet with her beautiful surprise and much more, this week’s best dressed list is highly fashionable and yet so sweet!
- Beverly Osu
Former Big Brother Africa star, Beverly Osu looks absolutely stunning in this plum dress by Bibi Lawrence. Yes the same Bibi Lawrence that made the fairytale dress we saw on Anto last week. This outfit is not your regular owambe dress, it features one shoulder that leads to a little plunge, an erotic slit, stud details at the top, a wrap style at the hips and the dress just stops just a little below the knee.. and all of these didn’t look too much. The dress is definitely a show stopper and perfect canvas for Beverly Osu who looked gorgeous.
2. Ayo Makun (AY)
Unlike Ebuka Obi-Uchendu who has almost become a permanent fixture on our lists because of his regular slayage, popular Nigerian comedian and movie producer AY makes his debut on our best dressed list. The entertainer looked super dapper in this agbada piece from La’baleo Collection to host a wedding during the week. He accessorized with a simple black cap and I daresay that nothing is out of place with this look. The embroidery was simple yet stood out, perfect choice of colours… We won’t be surprised if guests confused him for the groom.
- Ini-Dima Okojie
She has become one of our regulars here on Glazia’s best dressed, she never ceases to slay! This is one of my favorite looks of this week. Here is Ini in an iro and buba inspired wrap dress from Fablane by Derin. Loved the fusion of velvet and chiffon in this look. Derin has proven to be a force to be reckoned with, constantly churning out gorgeous pieces and frequent collaborator, Ini is ever ready to showcase them. Ini accessorized with earrings from Mocollaress and black heels.
- Noble Igwe
Is it me or does Noble look so much better in traditional clothes than regular clothes? Here he is uniting the Igbo and Yoruba cultures in this classic Ojude Oba attire with a classic red cap attributed to the Igbos at the just concluded Ojude Oba festival held in Ijebu Ode in Ogun state, this week.. He looks so cool and it’s such a wonderful blend of both pieces. Loved that he didn’t wear beads as the shirt is laden with designs.
5. Alex Unusual
When I saw this look, my first thought was, how long did it take to make that skirt? But it’s a gorgeous piece by Lumiere Woman and FYI, it is self styled. The bits of orange, yellow, butter, carefully toned down with grey, green, brick red on the skirt is matched with a sheer orange top with balloon sleeves. The outfit already has a lot going on and I liked that she barely accessorized though I would have preferred a darker choice of lipstick because she has full lips and the bright colours on full lips came off as too much. However, it’s a gorgeous look.
6. Timini Egbuson
You know what they say, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Timini definitely has his sister’s (Dakore Egbuson Akande) style genes enbedded in his DNA. Here he is in a two piece relaxed set in navy blue by NiniE. It’s such a cool look and definitely suits him.
7. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu
This was one of the most talked about looks of the week on twitter but are we surprised? Ebuka in his usual fashion blessed us with another dope Babbariga agbada but with denim matched with a cap and tie dye pants from Kano, all in blue by D29. This piece has raised the bar of agbada style and who else to launch us into this era but the fashion whisperer, Ebuka?
- Nancy Isime
Nancy is all about business and securing the bag in this print and plane shirt combo from Shirtfreak. She paired it with black jeans, a print bag and blue pumps. I personally wished she kept either the bag or shoes plane because it almost looks like a lot is going on. But she looks great.
- Linda Osifo
Nigerian actor Linda Osifo stuns in this fabulous Ankara dress by SueManuel, teamed with nude ankle straps and purse. It’s an off the shoulder shirt dress that totally cinches at the waist, highlighting her tiny waist and showing off her toned legs. She looks so fabulous!
- Toyin Abraham
Popular Yoruba actor Toyin Abraham has been in the news lately and for all the right reasons. She tied the knot this week and also welcomed her baby boy to the world. A huge congratulations to the actress who seems to be overflowing with love. Her look for her maternity shoot landed her in our best dressed for the first time… talk about winning on every level?! She looked so sweet and adorable in this blue gown and shorts with a long train, from House of Khareed.
Who was your ultimate favorite look?
