It was a night of music and history at the 2023 BET Awards, which took place at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. The show celebrated 50 years of hip-hop with performances from some of the genre’s icons and legends, such as Lil Uzi Vert, The Sugar Hill Gang, MC Lyte, D-Nice, Big Daddy Kane, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Jeezy, Kid ‘N Play, Master P, Redman, Remy Ma, Soulja Boy, Styles P, Warren G, and Trina. The audience also witnessed a special tribute to Tina Turner by the incomparable Patti LaBelle and a Lifetime Achievement Award for Busta Rhymes.
The nominations for the awards were announced on June 8th and featured some of the biggest names in the industry. Drake led the pack with seven nods, followed by other stars like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Nas X, and Doja Cat. But we were also thrilled to see some Nigerian artists on the list, such as BurnaBoy, Ayra Starr, Tems, Asake, and Wizkid.
And we are happy to announce that Burna Boy, Tems, and Ayra Starr all took home trophies for their categories. This win brings Burna Boy to a total of four BET Award wins.
Before we show you the winners, we have to say that we are extremely proud of Davido’s performance at the 2023 BET Awards. Watch it HERE. Davido may not have been in the nomination’s list, but his performance was a sure winner!
Here are all the winners of the 2023 BET Awards.”
