The MTV Video Music Awards brought all the boys and girls to the yard! The event was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and was hosted by America stand up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. See major highlights from the night and full list of winners here.
Now away from all that, can we talk about the red carpet looks? The celebrities made indelible marks on the red carpet with their style, each telling a story or siding with a trend. It’s not the Oscars or the Met Gala but the MTV VMAs red carpet was glorious to see.

Come on legs! Normani wore a strapless asymmetrical dress by Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran. The dress let had a full cutout showing us her abs. She paired with red sandal heels and silver hoops. Literal F I R E!

The pre-show host channeled her inner sweetness in this floating dress of ruffles and a train, all in pink from the Giambattista Valli Haute Couture. She paired it with silver jewelry and heels.

The “Hustlers” Star looked like money in this glittery yellow gown by Yousef Aljasmi, Giuseppe Zanotti heels, David Yurman earrings and with a crystal-encrusted Judith Leiber clutch. Peep her hotline bling tho!

We hope our future is as bright as Lil Nas X shimmery suit. In his true fashion, he hit the old town road… excuse me, VMA red carpet in this Prince inspired silver suit and romantic lace shirt. YeeeeeeeHaw!

Somebody call 911, Lizzo fire burning on the carpet!!! She strutted the VMA red carpet in this red, sequined tube dress with SIREN written all over it. She paired it with a red feather boa as designed by Jeremy Scott for Moschino.

Cardi B left nothing to the imagination in this form fitting burgundy gown with a cleavage spilling neckline. We can’t deny the creative genius that is this gown. It’s beautiful, it’s feminine, it’s fierce and it suits Cardi to the teeth.

Taylor looked colorful and simple in this custom made multi-color, chain-print beaded blazer dress by Versace, plus black crystal designed Christian Louboutin boots, Kallati earrings, a Versace necklace, bracelets and rings by Brumani and Misahara Jewelry. She finished the look with emerald hoop earrings and her signature red lippy.

The “Big Ole Freak” rapper crushed our hearts with this fierce look- a bedazzled black blazer with a matching bra and underwear set that was detailed with beads and stones all over plus a matching knee high boots. Our freaky knight in shining armor.

Taylor Swift’s BFF and executive producer of Video of the Year award winning song, You Need to Calm Down, l Todrick Hall not only won at the awards, he won on the red carpet too. He kept thinks spacy and cool in this moon man inspired look with suspenders and pink hair.

If handsome has a face, it definitely would be Shawn’s The star kept things cool, calm and collected in this dark teal suit worn over a black button down shirt and white T-shirt. How cute?!
