A plethora of people waltzed into the Eko Convention Center to see their favourite African artists win one or more awards at the Soundcity MVP Awards 2020 held last night the 11th of January, 2020.
As with award shows, everyone especially the celebrities come through in their event best to remind us why they are celebrities in the first place. From monochrome to brightening sequin, here are the best dressed looks from the Soundcity MVP Awards, 2020.
- Ufuoma McDermott
Yummy mummy and actor Ufuoma wore ombré coloured sequin jacket over leather shorts and a cute black v-neck bralette by Ifeanyi Kalu Clothing as styled by Garnet-25 . She accessorised appropriately with a plunging neck chain, drooping earrings and a pair of champagne heels. She definitely came to partée after partée.
- Dakore Egbuson
Nigerian actor Dakore channeled her inner rock star styled in Mimis Kreationz black suit designed with leather belts by Madame Modish and Style by Dax . She paired this look with black ankle length boots, pretty dope alté shades and a purse. Would have loved it more if she went gothic on her makeup instead of a soft glam.
- Rema
Nigerian rapper and singer Rema who won the award for Best New MVP at the Soundcity MVP Awards last night came through in his signature look- head to toe black. He wore a black suit on black turtleneck by Gypsy Elvis; however he opted for his locks to be let down instead of his usual up do. The hairstyle changed his looks a bit, we almost didn’t recognize him. Great look, Remy boy.
- Blaqbonez
Definitely one of our favourite looks of the night. Blaqbonez took his drip seriously. He walked into the award show looking sleek in a green ankara suit on black turtleneck top by Rick Dusi. We also admire how he accessorised with a different lengths of gold chains and the white sneaks. We have no choice but to stan!
- Toyin Abraham
Yoruba actor Toyin slayed the Soundcity MVP awards in monochrome wine-red styled and designed by Tiannah’s Place Empire . The pant suit had a huge belt to cinch the waist. She also matched the colour on her shoes and hair. She didn’t come to play!
- Tiwa Savage
Africa’s number one female artiste Tiwa Savage kept it simple and classy in a beautiful one handed dress by Tubo. This dress suits Tiwa so well. It’s such a perfect look.
- Bonang Matheba
South Africa’s tv Host, Bonang served fresh ata rodo in this red dress by Xtrabrides Lagos. The red number featured cutouts at the side and a slit. If this isn’t flaming hot, we dunno what it is.
- Toni Tones
Actor and fashion influencer Toni Tones kept it lit in a brightly coloured shiny sequin dress. Imagine a disco ball turned into a dress. Toni is known to always make a fashion statement each time and we love that about her. The outfit is by Adey Soile and jewellery by Wow Accessories.
- Elozonam
Nollywood actor and reality TV star Elozonam looked super fresh and dope in ankara shirt and pants UCjas. The outfit is tailored to perfection and we love that he paired it with a pair of white sneaks.
- Avala
Nigerian artiste and former housemate of the Big Brother Naija house, Avala brought the sexy to the Soundcity MVP Awards styled by the Fashiongawd in a green velvet dress by Sisiyemi. The dress featured cutouts at the sides and a plunging neckline. The dress is dangerously clingy and showed off her curves with reckless abandon.
