When it comes to style, Angel Obasi, could be said to have nailed it to near perfection. Having created a style niche for herself in the Nigerian fashion scene, the Style Connaisseur (sic) as she is popularly known, is always a vision to behold in her beautiful looks.
The style star took to social media on Tuesday, to deliver a succinct account of her journey to style stardom.
“I started dressing up for a living full time, last year. I quit my 9-5 to focus on my passion. It is more than a blessing to get paid to wear clothes amongst other things. I don’t take it lightly! I am obsessed with my work and my craft.” She shared.
She decided to work her passion and make a career out of it, and this is evident in the results. In her words, “I take this job just as seriously as I took my 9-5. On most of the days I shot these images, I would shoot 10 – 20 outfits a day, just so I will have a catalogue of images at the backend.
“For 2-3 weeks, I have contents that can go up every day, twice a day. I used to shoot once a week when I had my 9-5 (Every Sunday) and be back at work on Monday morning after spending my Saturday styling all 18 outfits.
But truth is I got tired. So I thought I can’t be selfish, I can’t keep taking days off when I have an event that paid more. I now run a business so I should know how frustrating it is. So I quit. I could have kept going but I didn’t because it wasn’t fair to my employers.” She revealed.
For people who want to start a career as a fashion influencer, or in anything else, Angel Obasi wants you to be passionate, consistent and fearless. “And remember talent is never enough because hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard” the Style Connaisseur encouraged.
