THE GOOD:
Agbani Darego: A model came to their award and showed actresses how it should be done. Agbani seems to be adding some flesh too, good for her! |
Jocelyn Dumas: breathtakingly superb! and she looked soooo good live, her hair and make-up were excellent! Movie award worthy Jocelyn!
Ibinabo Febrisima: Beautiful gown, you should see the generous side boob on this dress and it didn’t look tacky. Now that’s how to show them you’re the head honcho at the AGN. I just didn’t like the hair, but she was flawless |
Jackie Appiah: the lady with the beautiful smile. Simple yet sophisticated gown. She looked really lovely and gracious + she had lovely hair too! we can see you’re working on the belly fat Jackie, keep it up and watch those arms darl. |
Kate Henshaw: I just couldn’t stop staring at her as she stood by me, this lady is almost in her late forties. Look at that hot bod! Her gown was lovely but that hair? looks like a South African Kumbaya hat (no offence my SA peeps) and then she had a small button-like stop attached to the centre of the hair.. oh yes,a hat hair! |
Yvonne Okoro: Beautiful woman, good gown. wish I could say so for her hair, What’s with these ladies and their hair this time huh? she usually has perfect hair! Don’t look at the make-up, this photo was taken at the end of the awards, she looked lovely. |
THE NOT -SO -GOOD :
Funlola Aofiyebi: I thought she looked fabulous but her dress would have been appropriate for a dinner party or something like that. I mean, the AMCVAs are equivalent to the Oscars in Africa. You should bring out the big guns! Aside from that, she was beautiful head to toe. |
And there was a second one: The Kenyan Presenter (sorry, can’t remember her name) when she was presenting with Gideon Okeke, I screamed to myself “That’s Funlola’s dress!”.. thats’ a real chic stole my look right there. so who rocked it best? |
AMCVA Hosts(L-R; Vimbai, IK and Osas): Aside from this first outfit where Vimbai looked like a failed Michael Jackson Apprentice, the hosts all looked goodin their dresses. Osas wore really beautiful gowns, I wish I could say the same for her hosting skills. She was so mechanical and made even the dumbest person know she was reading from a teleprompter. Vimbai on the other hand, rocked at hosting, her ad libs were amazing! Now IK is the don dada and he allowed the kids to shine cos he got hosting in the bag! |
Genevieve Nnaji in Jewel by Lisa: It hurts me to say this cos I love Gene and JBL but this dress failed to wow me and almost everyone at the AMVCAs. whilst the cropped top or bra and skirt covered with a mesh sounded like a good idea, it failed at execution (look at the bottom part of the mesh). I could hear some people mumbling around me in the hall when Ms. Gene came to present an award “is this a wardrobe malfunction?”. No red carpet dress should be mistaken for a wardrobe malfunction |
Rita Dominc in Lanre Da Silva Ajayi: gasp! even Rita made it to the”not so good section too?” some of you will be cursing me out by now but you don’t even love Rita like I do so take a chill pill. Another dress by an excellent designer that failed to wow me. It was too busy, too much going on that it ended up looking confused, lets just say, Rita has looked better. Rita’s hair, make-up and skin were rocking though! and she got that award + a trip to Dubai so I say she’s winning! |
THE DOWNRIGHT BAD:
Ufuoma Ejonobor: “oh Ufuoma why dost thou drown in drama?” Need I say more? |
Mercy Johnson: Whilst she is an excellent actress, Mercy will never win any awards for her great style and this gown testifies of that fact. You should have seen her shoes when she raised her gown up on stage, let’s not talk about her hair and make-up shall we?. For someone who reportedly is one of the highest paid actresses in Nollywood, I say Mercy, please you can BUY style. get a stylist pretty lady!
P.S: Uche Jombo would have been on the GOOD part of this list in her BCBG Max Azria gown but there were no flattering photos of her. She however looked lovely live at the awards. Posing right on the red carpet is also a thing ladies, get to learning!
so what do you think of the list?
