The highly anticipated Bad Boys III tagged Bad Boys for Life starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence was released in cinemas globally on Friday the 17th of January and Lagos wasn’t left out! Filmhouse Cinemas held a special screening of the movie at their newly opened MX4D cinema at the Landmark Centre Oniru, Lagos.
The who-is-who in the entertainment industry were all there to see this long awaited movie and yours truly, Glazia was there to cover it all for your reading and viewing pleasure.
It’s been fifteen long years since that cinematic masterpiece (Bad Boys II) was released and if you thought it was the best thing to happen to the franchise, you may need to think again. Bad Boys III aka Bad Boys For Life came back bigger, funnier and badder!
Bad Boys for Life is a 2020 American action comedy film starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, and is the sequel to Bad Boys II (2003) in the Bad Boys franchise. Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith, and Doug Belgrad, the film follows old school police detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) as they unite once more, to take down the vicious leader of a Miami drug cartel Armando with the assistance of newly created elite team AMMO of the Miami police department. Armando also happens to be Mike Lowrey’s nemesis in a way we never saw coming (no spoilers).
Themed Badass, the Filmhouse screening of Bad Boys for Life saw a host of celebrity “bad boys” and cool kids attend the screening in their respective BADASS outfits. Guests shared their expectations for the movie as they nibbled on snacks before the screening. When asked who they’d like to be cast as, almost every guy said Mike Lowrey. The ladies were not left out as well, when asked who they’d like to date if they were cast in the movie, they all mentioned Mike Lowrey. It’s all fun and games till Jada Pinkett-Smith pulls up on ya’ll!
We do promise no spoilers but there was however a fun but painful (you’d understand when you see the movie) cameo appearance from American DJ and record producer, DJ Khaled!
Since the premiere, fans and critics alike have shared their thoughts on the movie. We’d tell you for free that Bad Boys For Life will make you cry, laugh and keep you engaged the whole viewing time, little wonder it smashed the Box Office this weekend!
What’s even more smashing is seeing the movie at the all new Filmhouse MX4D cinema at Landmark Center. The special effects MX4D experience is one for the books, and seems to be the best way to watch Bad Boys For Life. We can also tell you that Bad Boys IV is already in the works!
