1. RICH AND FAMOUS – PRAIZ WINNER
2. OMOTE – ESE PETERS
3. DON’T LET GO – CAPITAL FEMI
4. YES/NO – BANKYW
ANALYSIS: Praiz has an amazing voice but our problem is not even with him, it’s with the nominees on this category itself. Do you mean to say this was all they could get? What happened to Tuface though?  Anyhoo, congrats Praiz, we hope to hear more from you.
12. BEST VOCAL PERFORMANCE (FEMALE)
A non-voting category for the single female artiste with most outstanding vocal performances on a single song or album.
1. I WISH – WAJE WINNER
2. TOH BAD – NIYOLA
3. IRAWO – SEYI SHAY
4. TOTALLY YOURS – ZAINA
5. ONLY YOU – NIKKI LAOYE
ANALYSIS: Not taking Waje’s win away from her (she’s been tenacious) but isn’t it surprising that Omawumi who had a really good album didn’t make any of these categories? Even Tiwa Savage was not nominated here. I mean, no disrespect but Zaina made it, do you smell a rat? Also, I have always had a problem with how the Headies favour the males more than female artistes. Please look into this and do better.
13. NEXT RATED
This category is a voting category for the most promising upcoming officially unreleased (or signed) act in the year under review.
1. SEAN TIZZLE >>> WINNER
2. DAMMY KRANE
3. BURNA BOY
4. SEYI SHAY
5. PHYNO
ANALYSIS: Now, Sean Tizzle had a good year but was it good enough to win this category? we don’t think so and even Sean Tizzle himself doesn’t think so that’s why he went gaga last night. Burna boy smoked the year in review, he’s so good he should have had more nominations. Infact, if we were giving scores, Tizzle would not be 3rd on this list.
14. HIP HOP WORLD REVELATION
A voting category for the best new artiste in the year under review.
1. W.A.J.E – WAJE
2. OMO BABA OLOWO – DAVIDO >>> WINNER

ANALYSIS: very impressive run Davido has had.

A non-voting category for the Rap Artiste with the best lyrical depth and performance on a single song or album.
1. OLAMIDE – VOICE OF THE STREETS
2. BOOGEY – SANCTUM
3. MODE 9 – LET IT GO WINNER
4. PHYNO – MAN OF THE YEAR
ANALYSIS: Seems Mode9 has a stake at the Headies. No doubt he is super good but he shouldn’t be winning this where you have Olamide and Phyno, like how many people even heard his song? It’s about who did well in a particular year in view not sentiments and old glory, mode9 sing more and you’d win but Headies please get it right!
16. BEST STREET-HOP ARTISTE
A voting category for the artiste whose songs are inspired by the streets. Such song should captain lingua, which may also be originated by the artiste and popular on the street.
1. TERRY G – RUN MAD

1. IYANYA VS. DESIRE– IYANYA
2. O.B.O. – DAVIDO
3. R&BW – BANKYW
4. BLESSED – FLAVOUR
5. YBNL – OLAMIDE WINNER

ANALYSIS: we are going to say this only once; Olamide deserved all his awards! He has been phenomenal, rose like a phoenix above unflattering comparisons between him and the late rapper, Dagrin and and found his perfect style.

19. ARTISTE OF THE YEAR

1. IYANYA >>>> WINNER
2. DAVIDO
3. WIZKID
4. FLAVOUR
5. OLAMIDE
6. ICE PRINCE
ANALYSIS: Well, Iyanya had a massive year especially the time in review. It’s rather surprising that Wizkid didn’t get any awards or did they “Kanye” him? Wizkid has been more than amazing!

1. DUROSOKE – OLAMIDE
2. UR WAIST – IYANYA
3. ALINGO – P-SQUARE
4. SHO LEE – SEAN TIZZLE
5. LIMPOPO – KCEE WINNER
ANALYSIS: Big ups to Kcee.. oya Limpopo, baby go limpopo. where’s Presh though? who would have expected Kcee to make it better than Presh? He seemed to be the one who sang more then… reminds me of JC Chasez of Nsync and Justin Timberlake.
