While everyone else is diving head first into work, 2019 Big Brother Naija contestant, (1st runner up) Mike Edwards and his wife Perri Shakes-Drayton Edwards are giving us holiday goals as they enjoy their long overdue honeymoon in Mauritius.
Mike Olayemi Edwards, is an entrepreneur and long-jump athlete, recognized for creating Britain’s first black-owned cigar. He rose to fame in Nigeria in 2019, when he contested in reality TV show, Big Brother Naija -Pepper Dem edition. He was known in the house for his gentlemanly behavior and fondly called the cruise captain. Admired by male and female viewers, he is said to have set a standard for “Nigerian married men” to follow.
While in the big brother house, newly married Mike Edwards won an all expense paid trip to Mauritius in the Lipton ice tea – Sunshine challenge. We’re excited to live vicariously through Mike and Perri – a professional athlete (British Olympian) – who seem to be having the time of their lives on the beautiful island; giving us couple goals and holiday fever all in one!

The Island of Mauritius now the Republic of Mauritius is a great vacation choice especially because the island nation, is known for its beaches, lagoons and reefs. The mountainous interior includes Black River Gorges National Park, with rain forests, waterfalls, hiking trails and wildlife like the flying fox. Capital Port Louis has sites such as the Champs de Mars horse track, Eureka plantation house and 18th-century Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens.
This is a really good way to start the year especially because of how January is perceived as a hard month after the festivities and everyone should either be on their grind or nose deep in work. From all indications, the beautiful couple will come back from their trip fresher and ready to take on 2020 or what do you think?
