RAFAEL NADAL DEFEATS NOVAK DJOKOVIC TO WIN A HISTORIC 9TH FRENCH OPEN TROPHY

“For me, playing here at Roland Garros is just unforgettable.”photo credit: Roland Garros PARIS – Rafael Nadal came from a set down to defeat Novak Djokovic 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4  in an intense French Open final at the Chatrier.  This win makes it Nadal’s 9th French Open trophy,a new personal record in the history of the championship.  With the win, Nadal retains his N0.1 ATP ranking and has also increased his head to head lead against Djokovic 23-19.  Congratulations, Rafael Nadal!  Nadal has won 14 major championships, tying Pete Sampras for second on the career list. Nadal is now three behind Roger Federer’s record for Grand Slam titles.
