In honor of Mother’s Day, US based Nigerian-born Pop artist, T-Kross  organized “Hands up For Mama”, a first of  its kind event in collaboration with other artists and community organization, Women Werk, as a way of giving back and saying thanks to moms and women as a whole.

Hosted at Amarachi Restaurant in Brooklyn, New York,  – Hands Up For Mama was a night of great entertainment, networking and all round fun! The participants were treated to dinner, exciting gift bags filled with goodies, as well as auctioned items courtesy of Simply Ma’am bags.

Awards were also given to women who were nominated for their contributions to the community: Joyce Adewumi, Joanne Sylvester, Christina Ude, and Olamide Davies Talabi. T-Kross opened with song covers of Boyz II Men and 2Face Idibia, “Mama” and “African Queen” respectively.  The ladies absolutely enjoyed this as they took over singing, leaving T-Kross to only smile in amazement as he directed his choir (the audience of mothers).

Artist, Delit did his thing and got the mothers dancing, while Sudan moved the crowd with an electric performance. T-Kross closed the show with his songs “Mama” and “No Worries”. It was definitely a night to remember.

“Special thanks to our community sponsors, especially Thompson Burk, our media partners and sponsors, and most importantly, all of the mothers in attendance – we love you and we do this for you. We hope to continue this again next year and years to come” – a happy Tkross said commented.
