Big Brother Nigeria 2022 (BBNaija season 7) premiered on Saturday and Sunday and this time, the show came with a different plan and output. From the production to the housemates and marketing, there is so much to unbox.
First, the show’s unique host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, appeared prepared as usual, in stunning attires on both days. His dapping look on Saturday got the Twitter timeline buzzing. Many alluded to his clothes as ‘a coat of many colours’.
Also, this year’s premiere had a live audience in attendance. Their energy was unmatched and this enabled many of the contestants to feel at ease immediately after they mounted the stage.

The House
BBNaija season 7 came with surprises this year and one of them was the House. There are two houses this year—first-of-its-kind in the show’s history in Nigeria. So, twelve housemates are in House 1, while the other twelve are in House 2.
House 1, according to Twitter users is the “mainland”. It was designed in a game style. The couches have a rubric cube style and one of the pillars has a squid game sign on it. Compared to last year, the kitchen is quite small and the colours are blinding. Many people have voiced their utter disapproval of the decor in house 1.
On the other hand, House 2, which has been widely described as the ‘Island’ has beautiful paintings and arts. It’s also quite spacious and accommodating.
The Housemates
This year, there are twenty-four housemates. Twelve in each House, twelve males and twelve females. It appears the casting director took the comments on age last year quite seriously as this year’s contestants are mainly Gen Z, with only a few edging towards thirty and only one person over thirty.
