If you are thinking of relocating or working overseas, we have created a list of the easiest countries to get a work visa. Getting a work visa can be a painful and traumatic experience, as most countries prioritise their own citizens and place limits on the roles available to foreigners.

There are two types of work permit. The first will allow you to work at a specified company doing a job already proven cannot be done by a native citizen. If you can find a company to sponsor you, this is the way to go. The second is an open work permit that will allow you to do any job within the country. Below are countries you can easily get into with permits that doesn’t involve the use of connections.

Germany

If you’re looking for somewhere in Europe, Germany should be towards the top of your list. If you’re a freelancer with a successful list of clients, this is definitely the best country for a work permit.

Germany offers an “artist visa” that lets freelancers establish residency in Germany for the purpose of self-employment. Although, you’ll have to cough up to €110 and a lot of documentation—your business plan, proof of health insurance, and so forth.

Countries, like Germany, welcome foreigners into their graduate programs. You’ll need to apply for a visa after you enroll in the school, but if you’re thinking about grad school, it might be a good opportunity to live overseas.

Ukraine

Recent legislation in Ukraine makes it clear that in order to legally receive wages in Ukraine a foreigner, you must obtain a work permit. For many years it was possible for foreigners to register as private entrepreneurs and render services such as teaching English or translating while paying a fixed monthly tax.

The Ukraine visa form is straightforward and takes just a few minutes to complete. It is necessary to have a passport from one of the eligible countries, a credit or debit card to pay for the Ukrainian visa fee, and an email address to receive the electronic visa. Thats it!

Ireland

Ireland has a General Employment Permit, which grants non-EU citizens up to two years of legal employment. Applicants for work visa are required to apply for an employee permit there which is valid for two years of employment.
He/She must also have the Critical Skills for an Employment Permit, in which you need to fall into the category of the professions specified.

If you search on the Ireland visa website, you will be able to find all the sectors they are hiring for under these two categories. Once you have a job offer in writing, either you or your employer can apply for your visa.

Ireland offers a working holiday program for recent graduates and grants a stay of up to one year as well as working PRIVILEGES. Requirements are different based on the reason you are staying in Ireland for an extended period such as volunteering, working, religious services, or academics.

Croatia

Croatia is once again enjoying economic growth and stability, making it an attractive place to work as well as visit on your holiday. If you’re thinking of moving to Croatia for employment, you might need a work permit to do so.

The residence permit based on employment is a unique permit, which provides temporary residence and allows one to work for a Croatian company in Croatia. You must be a third-country national to qualify for a work permit because EU nationals can reside and work in Croatia on a residence permit. Greece

Work permits in Greece are employer-specific, occupation-specific, and location-specific, and are normally valid for one year. A worker from a non-EU country must first obtain a visa to enter Greece and then apply for the residence/work permit once in Greece.

Non-EU nationals and workers from countries outside of the Schengen Agreement must apply for work permits. A worker may apply for a work permit through an employer or apply for a working holiday visa.

Greece offers international applicants seeking employment in the country different avenues to obtain official permission. Depending on the nature of work, applicants must apply for corresponding visas. Applicants must possess a valid passport, pose no threat to public order or public health, and possess the ability to cover return costs to the country of origin.
