Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit us, some of us barely had time to keep up with the long list of what to do and what not to do before bedtime. There was a struggle of whether or not to apply those glistening makeup. We were busy and trying so hard to keep up with the filled up schedule. However the need to show ourselves tender love and care was always there.

We anticipate the eradication of this virus and we want to hit the ground running when that is done, which is why we have some beauty tips for you. You’re welcome in advance.

Opt for concealer in place of foundation

If you are in a hurry or you can’t stand going through the entire process of contouring but you need your makeup to come out top notch, replace using a foundation with a concealer. It helps especially in covering dark spots and blemishes. When you finish, follow up with a face powder of your preference. Application of a primer before the entire makeup will keep it all in check.

Lipstick is a gem. Why? It can perfectly suit three purposes; as a lipstick, an eye shadow and a blush. Yes, that’s right. You don’t need to go through the whole rigor of applying eye shadow as we see in tutorials. I mean, we don’t have time for that. Just swipe a red lipstick of your choice across your cheeks for that blush effect and smudge it across your eyelids as well (please do not use matte for this). You can use the same colour of lipstick for all three purposes or mix them up if you’re feeling adventurous. Lip gloss can also be used for shimmering eye shadow.

Some of us would rather just fix our brows and let the rest of our face go bare. Fuller brows make our facial appearance more prominent and ‘gives life’ to our face. Let me save you the entire stress of eyebrow pencil, filler, gel, etc. Here’s the secret; Mascara. You’d be shocked to realize how mascara thickens the eyebrows but trust me, it does. If your eyebrows are really sparse, almost bald, use it along with eye pencil and storm the rest of your day!

Hair is not a burden

Ponytails are one of the most time saving styles ever. Just put that entire gorgeous mane in a ponytail, bun or afro puff on days you are not feeling. There are gorgeous ways to pack your hair in a ponytail. It’s a less stressful, low maintenance, time saving, convenient style. Scarf and turbans add spice especially when they match your clothing. If you aren’t feeling any of these, you can cut your hair. Yes I say so. This is the 21st century and there are lots of gorgeous hair cuts to try out. You can draw patterns, sponge it or tint it and still look flawless!

You have had a long day and nature beckons. The bathroom seems to be in another planet yet you’re still on earth – on your bed with your lazy girl makeup on. Face wipes to the rescue! They must always be by your bedside.  It is advisable to get face wipes fortified with Vitamin A and E that are soft, gentle and nourishing to the skin. Most people opt for baby wipes because of these.

Supplements go a long way

We can’t always go through those 10-step or 5-step skin care routine but the glow is most. What better way to care for your body than from the inside? Honestly, you’re better off taking just supplements than having a crappy diet and going through all the 100-step beauty routine. Supplements rich in vitamins A, B3, B5, C, D, and E, contribute immensely to glowing skin and hair. Kindly take these as prescribed by the doctor.

Easy Exfoliation

Exfoliate your lips using a toothbrush immediately after brushing your teeth. You can use your personal toothbrush or have a separate baby toothbrush if your regular tooth brush is hard. Also, a simple mixture of sugar and honey is an effective homemade exfoliant for your face and other areas you wish to exfoliate. Just ensure it is in the bathroom to encourage you sticking to the routine.

Stay Hydrated
Hydration is very essential

Do not skip this one. We need water for daily running of our body system. It is needed for metabolism which flushes toxins in present in the system. A simple practice of having a portable water bottle to carry along everywhere helps imbibe the habit of drinking water. Stay hydrated, your body will thank you for it.
