The 2025 Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards were announced live from MWC Barcelona, marking three decades of recognising excellence and innovation in the mobile and technology industry. The GLOMOs, considered one of the most prestigious awards in the sector, honour groundbreaking advancements in mobile technology, connectivity, and digital transformation.
This year, more than 220 industry experts evaluated a highly competitive field of entries, with winners emerging across multiple categories, from 5G infrastructure to AI-driven applications and mobile security innovations.

Breakthroughs in Mobile Technology
The Mobile Tech category saw Huawei dominate, winning Best Mobile Network Infrastructure (GigaGreen Radio) and Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough (GigaGear for 5G SA Solution). China Mobile and Huawei also secured the CTO Choice: Outstanding Mobile Technology Award and Best Network Software Breakthrough for their Telecom Foundation Model.

Security solutions were also in focus, with Singtel winning Best Mobile Security Solution for its Enterprise Mobile Protect & 5G Priority service, reinforcing the industry’s growing emphasis on cybersecurity.
Digital Innovation Transforming Industries
The Digital Everything category highlighted how mobile technology is shaping modern life. China Unicom Guangdong, Gree, and Huawei won Best Mobile Innovation for the Connected Economy for their Next-Generation ‘Lights-out’ Factory, showcasing the future of industrial automation.
Healthcare innovation took centre stage, with China Telecom’s 5G UAV Medical Delivery Network winning Best Mobile Innovation for Connected Health and Wellbeing, demonstrating how 5G technology is enhancing emergency medical services.
In AI and fintech, Qualcomm was recognized for Best AI Innovation with its Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, while bKash and Huawei won Best Fintech Innovation for their Digital Loan Solution for All, advancing financial inclusion in emerging markets.
Revolutionising Consumer Devices
In the Device category, Google’s Pixel 9 Pro was named Best Smartphone, while Google Gemini won Breakthrough Device Innovation, solidifying Google’s leadership in AI-integrated mobile technology. Meanwhile, TECNO’s MEGA MINI Gaming G1 won Best Connected Consumer Device, reflecting the growing influence of gaming-focused mobile hardware.
Technology for Social Impact
The Tech4Good category recognized solutions using technology for social and environmental change. Kyiv Digital Shield won Best Mobile Innovation Supporting Emergency or Humanitarian Situations, showcasing mobile technology’s role in crisis response. Silvanet’s Ultra-Early Wildfire Detection won Best Mobile Innovation for Climate Action, underlining tech’s contribution to environmental sustainability.
For contributions to young people, SK Telecom and YATAV’s Meta Forest won Best Mobile Innovation for Enhancing the Lives of Children and Young People, demonstrating the power of digital experiences in education.

Marketing and Government Leadership
The Marketing Excellence category saw Orange win Best Event Activation for its Ambient Mobile Technology at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, highlighting the integration of mobile technology in global sports. Brazil was honoured with the Government Leadership Award for its efforts in advancing mobile connectivity and innovation policies.
Recognising Outstanding Industry Achievements
The GLOMOs also celebrated key individuals shaping the mobile sector. Mats Granryd, Director General of GSMA, received the Outstanding Contribution to the Mobile Industry Award for his leadership in global mobile policy. Ayumi Moore Aoki, Founder and CEO of Women in Tech, was honoured with the Diversity in Tech Award for her work in promoting gender inclusion in the industry.
