In today’s era, everyone seems to be a critic, yet the Critics Choice Awards stands out as the platform where seasoned skeptics choose their favorite films and television shows from the previous year. Oppenheimer solidified its awards-season dominance with an impressive eight 2024 Critics Choice Awards, securing Best Picture and Best Director for Christopher Nolan in Santa Monica. The Barbenheimer Show took center stage at the CCAs, with Barbie as a close runner-up, earning six wins, including Best Comedy.
The top small-screen categories mirrored the Golden Globes, with Netflix’s Beef, HBO’s Succession, and FX’s The Bear clinching Best Limited Series, Drama, and Comedy Series, respectively. On the acting front, Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook repeated their success as Best Actor and Actress in a Drama for Succession, while Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri claimed Best Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series for FX’s The Bear. Ali Wong and Steven Yeun secured Best Actress and Actor in a Limited Series or Made for TV Film for Beef.
During the ceremony, Margot Robbie presented the SeeHer Award to her Barbie co-star America Ferrera, and James Mangold honored his Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny co-star Harrison Ford with the Career Achievement Award. Chelsea Handler returned as the host, playfully trolling her ex-boyfriend Jo Koy in her opening monologue.
Now, let’s see the complete winners at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards.
