Amidst the Snowstorm of Love

Wu Lei and Zhao Jinmai’s on-screen chemistry is absolutely insane—so natural, so effortless, and so full of life. How their relationship unfolds feels real, like watching two people genuinely fall for each other. It’s rare for a drama to keep the spark alive after the couple gets together, but this one does it beautifully.

Professional billiards player Yin Guo jumps at the opportunity to compete in a tournament in Hel, unaware that a sudden snowstorm will leave her stranded with Lin Yi Yang. From the moment they meet, a spark ignites between them. As they spend time together, Yin Guo discovers that Yi Yang was once a billiards prodigy who mysteriously disappeared from the scene. Moved by her dedication to the sport, Yi Yang finds himself drawn back to the game, determined to reclaim his place in the world of professional billiards.

The Double

The Double is a standout historical C-drama, comparable to Love Like the Galaxy and Kunning Palace. It follows Xue Fangfei, a determined female lead seeking justice and revenge after assuming a new identity. The drama, adapted from Marriage of the Di Daughter, stars Wu Jinyan and Wang Xingyue, whose strong chemistry enhances the story.

Xue Fang Fei, once the beloved daughter of a wealthy magistrate, loses everything when tragedy strikes her family. Rescued by Jiang Li, the daughter of the Secretariat Director, she assumes Jiang Li’s identity and returns to the capital with a new purpose. With the support of Duke Xiao Heng and other allies, she navigates countless obstacles, challenges corruption, fights for justice, and works to clear her father’s name. Alongside Xiao Heng, she becomes a force for change, protecting the innocent and uncovering the truth buried beneath power and deceit.

When the Phone Rings

The drama begins with Baek Sa Eon and Hong Hee Joo, a couple married for three years but trapped in silence due to mutual animosity and Hee Joo’s selective mutism. Their fragile relationship worsens when Hee Joo is kidnapped by a masked assailant who threatens her life to get Sa Eon’s attention. After escaping, Hee Joo’s resentment towards Sa Eon intensifies.

She uses the kidnapper’s phone to communicate her demands of getting a divorce. As the story unfolds, the couple must face their unresolved feelings and decide if they can move past their grievances to navigate the crisis together. The drama delves into their emotional struggles, tackling themes of trust, love, and redemption amid various external challenges.

You Are My Glory – Chinese Drama

I love everything about this 40-episode series which is why I may or may not have watched it 4 times. They fell in love, there was no ex-girlfriend or “I have loved him all my life and now I want him” drama. The love didn’t start from episode 39. They showed us their relationship progression. I also liked that they didn’t make the female lead annoying that while she loved the male lead, she loved herself too.

Their banter was refreshing and communication was solid. The plot was handsome as well. Everything felt refreshing. Yang Yang and Dilraba outdid themselves. I won’t mind another 40 episodes (covers face).

King The Land – Korean Drama

Every K-Drama lover knows this one. I needed more, I still do but it was perfect. The way he fell in love with her, was so sweet to watch. The way he always protects her too, is such a sweet romance. I liked how the grandfather gave up on splitting them up.

Their love was also refreshing to watch, there was no holding back from communicating with themselves which usually causes extra drama in these series. The writers heard our cry that we don’t want that. Everything just felt light even with the lead’s trauma. Writing this is making me want to watch it again. The plot was also very handsome!

Love Next Door – Korean Drama

The series stars Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min. Jung Hae-in is Choi Seung-hyo a renowned architect and Jung So-min is Bae Seok-ryu, she works in the tech industry in the USA. They were childhood friends but Choi Seung-Hyo has always been in love with Jung So-min. He was either waiting for her to catch up when they reconnected after she moved back to Korea or he had lost hope of their love and focused on work when he saw her in the USA with her bae.

Their friendship was interesting to watch as adults and as kids. People often focus on the leads and forget the other pockets of “Love Next Door” in the series, especially between the parents. The women had a small community where they made time for themselves, they went on trips together and even had a beautiful group chat. The second leads were also exciting to watch. Overall it was a feel-good series.

Cupid’s Kitchen – Chinese Drama

This drama follows Lin Kesong (played by Song Zu’er), a young woman with an extraordinary sense of taste, who unexpectedly crosses paths with Jiang Qianfan (played by Ethan Juan), a renowned chef in the Chinese culinary world. Their encounter sparks a delightful journey of love and culinary exploration, where they discover the magic of food and the unexpected flavours of romance.

The drama beautifully captures the vibrant colours and tantalizing aromas of Chinese cuisine. You’ll find yourself craving delicious dishes throughout the series like I did. I was always hungry after every episode but I couldn’t stop watching.

Love In Contract – Korean Drama

This drama features my baby girl Park Min-Young, if you have watched What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim then she needs to introduction. We see Choi Sang-eun (played by Park Min-young), a professional “fake wife” She enters contractual relationships with different men, some of them are tired of being pestered to get married, some want to show off having a pretty girlfriend after getting mocked by their classmates.

The list is endless. Her longest client is an introverted Court Judge Jung Ji-ho (played by Go Kyung-pyo) who has no idea what social cues are so he just keeps to himself. I enjoyed watching them fall in love, and how they communicated their feelings and were always ready to protect each other. Judge Jung Ji-ho’s jealousy streak was so funny, he didn’t know he had it in him to be jealous.

With these few points of ours, we have convinced you to remove your facemask and allow yourself to bask in love via Asian Dramas.
