In true Lucy fashion, the reveal wasn’t just an announcement; it was a statement. In a world where every milestone is often broadcast instantly, Lucy quietly savored the joy of pregnancy away from the constant buzz of the internet. She embraced peace, privacy, and the thrill of anticipation before finally letting the world in on her biggest secret yet.

In this exclusive and candid feature, Lucy opens up about the thrill of her “cat and mouse game” with the internet, how this journey has reshaped her entrepreneurial ambition, and why she sees navigating motherhood alone not as a challenge, but as a “real superpower.” She shares the lessons learned, the excitement of dreaming up a life for her “mini-me,” and the renewed drive to expand her businesses.

Glazia: You shocked and delighted the internet with the reveal of your pregnancy. What inspired you to finally go public, and what does this moment mean to you personally and as a woman in the public eye?

Lucy: I just wanted to enjoy a peaceful, quiet pregnancy and dream of the life I want to build for my little one. Imagining how the child would look, the excitement of not knowing what to expect, everything just wrapped up nicely. I got comfortable with the internet, not knowing, and the fun cat-and-mouse game of anticipating the reveal was exciting for me.

G: Being a reality TV star and entrepreneur means constantly living under public scrutiny. How have you managed to balance your private journey with the pressures of public life during this pregnancy?

L.E: I have learned to coexist with it, enjoying the highs and lows every step of the way. Everything works out in the end, so I try to stay positive in all situations and make the best of it all. I made peace with myself that I would be happy and enjoy the process whatever the outcome.

G: Pregnancy often reshapes priorities. How has this journey influenced your outlook on business, fame, and life in general?

L.E: I believe it does; it refocuses you on what’s vital. I started thinking of more ways to provide for my child, how to protect it from the chaos out here, and still share the beauty of the world and my life with an innocent, tiny human. To be honest, I’m stoked, and I really can’t wait to be able to do the things I enjoy with a mini-me.

G: There are many stereotypes around single women and motherhood in Nigeria. What message would you like your story to send to other women navigating their paths on their own terms?

L.E: You’re awesome! For even thinking of taking that bold step alone! You’re great! Don’t let anyone tell you any different. I see many people with partners still doing this journey on their own! Knowing that you’re alone and still championing on… that’s the real superpower! You’re winning already in the battle of the minds.

G: Many fans were surprised by your announcement. Was keeping your pregnancy private for so long a conscious decision, and what has that experience been like for you?

L.E: I’m genuinely sorry about the surprise! It just got so enjoyable not sharing online and anticipating the reaction it would garner when I finally announced. I was having fun toying with the idea of a supposed ‘leak.’ In truth, I wasn’t even trying to hide the pregnancy; life went on as usual. I went out, hung with friends, partied, went to the market, and so on. I just felt it was my personal prerogative to share when I wanted. I’ve had fun living life with such great news to share and taking a moment to breathe it all in before the chaos that social media can bring, and I can see I wasn’t wrong. Plus, mentally preparing to bring a little human into this world is no small feat; I had to take as much time for myself as I could find.

G: You’re admired not just as a reality TV star, but as a businesswoman. How do you envision motherhood impacting your brand and entrepreneurial journey?

L.E: It wouldn’t be a surprise if I shared now, would it?! Honestly, I just want to expand on the businesses I already have set up, advertise more, and get my numbers up so I can make more sales. The swimwear and sleepwear lines haven’t picked off yet as I lost my pages, and I got really discouraged after spending years building those pages and losing them in a snap. So I took a break, but I’m fully back and I’ll push harder than ever and build on what’s already on the ground. The grill part has expanded into full home-made meals and event catering. I’m hoping things hit it off; I have the team and am ready to hit the floor running.
